Today, went to school and handed in the maths project on comgruence and similarity, hope my maths teacher would not have lots of things to comment on it.That was the bad part of today, now for the good part.Mr Kes finally came back from his reservice, yeah (no more Ms Peh and her boring lessons :D)
Today's Geography lessons wsa full of live, listening to his hilarious jokes while copying notes.
I have been losing lots of pens lately, must be more careful in the furture of my belongings, espicially from that Aravind who also uses my pen without asking for my permission first. He is also very lazy to take out his pens even though it is in his bag
WASHINGTON : Spending more hours watching television or playing video games as a teenager may lead to depression in young adults, according to a study published Monday. Researchers looked at the exposure to electronic media of 4,142 adolescents who were not depressed when the study began in 1995, before DVDs and the Internet were widely used. The teens reported an average of 5.68 hours of media exposure per day, including 2.3 hours of television, 2.34 hours of radio, 0.62 hours of videocassettes and 0.41 hours of computer games. Seven years later, when the participants were an average of 21.8 years old, 308 of them (7.4 per cent) had developed symptoms consistent with depression. "In the fully adjusted models, participants had significantly greater odds of developing depression by follow-up for each hour of daily television viewed," wrote the authors of the study published in the Archives of General Psychiatry journal. "In addition, those reporting higher total media exposure had significantly greater odds of developing depression for each additional hour of daily use," said the study, led by Brian Primack of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Young women were found to be less likely to develop symptoms of depression than young men when exposed to the same amount of electronic media. Depression, the leading cause of non-fatal disability worldwide, commonly begins in adolescence or young adulthood, the article explained. The authors noted that time spent engaging with electronic media may replace time that could be spent on social, athletic or intellectual activities that could guard against depression. Messages transmitted through electronic media may encourage aggression, inspire fear or anxiety and hamper identity development, they added. Being exposed to media at night may also disrupt sleep important for emotional and cognitive development. "When high amounts of television or total exposure are present, a broader assessment of the adolescent's psychosocial functioning may be appropriate, including screening for current depressive symptoms and for the presence of additional risk factors," the authors said. "If no other immediate intervention is indicated, encouraging patients to participate in activities that promote a sense of mastery and social connection may promote the development of protective factors against depression."
I found this article quite interesting as many of my classmates likes to stay at home to watch television and play computer games.I hope after reading this article more people would cut down on their time spent on computer games and television

FRIENDS

Friends, they are the one to stick with you through most/all of your thick and thin. Friends will share your happiness and sadness with you, you might exchange with them your secret too.But friends sometimes have disagreement, and would quarrel or even break up the friendship.
I have a friend, who I am not sure whether he is my friend.Often we get along quite well with each other, exchange secrets etc. But sometimes, I feel like I am being ingore by him, in fact sometimes I think I am invisible in front of him.During those times that this friend approach me,most of which would be those times that he needed my help.I always do most of the things he requested me to do Eg. waiting for him during recess or some other times.
So is this friend a true friend to me ???

A typical day if u think

Today went to school as usual and did the daily routine. During art lesson, Mr Yeo told us to group together the different things that we think was art. My group just put everything we had together. And guess what was his answer, he said " If this things were in an art exhibition, it could have been quite interesting".Three cheers for my groups =). Good attempt to all my other classmates.
After art came the boring lesson, History.
YaYa, I know history is one of my favourite subject, and i am a history geek, but today was different.
Mr Ergerton, came in and did with us an activities, where we had to find 2 sources that have similarity or differences. Was so hard at first, my mind was in a whirl. Luckily my teammates became serious and help me. THANKS
I was dumbfounded when i heard that there was a English composition test today, which was not told before hand. I think the composition wrote not up to standard, (sigh) never mind try harder next time.
