9/12: Boring day

Today started off very boring :( woke up to do Chinese homework then had tuition. woah packed my room nickname "rubbish dump" looks much more neater today =D haiz but today was also filled with a little dissappoisntment :( No one talk to me on any form of media other than verbal except for Fatt rui. Kind off dissappointed with her, i have decided to start an experiment lasting 5-7 days. The objective is to uncover whether does she remember me as much as i think of her. Seriously she doesn't like or comment on my fb but does alot to others. Sometimes i feel quite left out, sometimes i think that she enjoy being with others, they can make her laugh and have common interest that i dun have much. Sometimes i feel so useless but nonetheless lub her =)

While i respect her for who she is and that's her so i must mentally prepare myself just wonder why i am so troubled by such situations haiz at least its not affecting my academics :)

I am dam sian now, no one to chat with all day long, facing homework and more. While on the optimistict side its a pyscological training and there's a buffet invitation this Sat :D My cousin's baby is one month old, that was fast :D. Hope my holidays get better soon maybe work would numb my troubled feelings

8/12: lighting moment of relieve =D

After working day and night trying to get the Orientation and Registration stuff right, i have finally gotten a break off from the constant proposa reviewing. Those who are trying to get some info about this two event even those non-office bearer in 28th SC, no luck its classified document till a later date :) Hahas but i am finding joy in the stress of work weird, thus i am sure that i like project management :) Its really a diplomatic situation running this two major event in my term as "MP" in the 28th SC. Dealing with numerous teachers which very luckily i know them well :) Well be back working next week, for now its my break to do homework... and other leisure stuff ^^.

However, Mr lam refuse to accept my proposal for the theme -> Breakout!! he insist on integrating it to become Breakout: To be a Champion. This totally ruins my ideology but not much i can do, in this case hes the President, i am the congressman. I seriously hope that he would not doubt the professional judgement of me and my team during the execution of the Orientation.

Hm... elections spirit is sure heating up even before the election committee announce the election date. I have spent 11 years of my life living in Clementi, however today is the first time that i have met my MP.
Open my first personal bank account today :) should help me to manage my finance easier :D

"Your harsh words ignite the blazing flame of motivation within me, the motivation that i lack, the motivation that no one provide" dedicated to someone out there ^.^

15/11: 4th day of Vacation

4th day of Vacation, just getting back the momentum of studying again and finding the joy in it :) So i did some mensuration, read some chinese stories and alittle on Global warming. Did some jogging which i perceive to be quite okay, 3.4 Km in 18 mins. Come on i haven been running for more than 6 months. And tmr i am going swimming =) Mum's birthday is on Saturday, dunno what to get for her. hm..... any ideas??

Some how vacation is a mixed feelings things to me cus on one side i wish it to end faster so as to put an end to the boredom however on the other hand i want it to last longer so that i can study more and not take O lvl so soon. I guess currently i am towards the lasting longer side :) 4th day of cutie cat in Cambodia :) she should be returning tomorrow i hope or was it the day after tomorrow?? I shall find out very soon :)

14/11: 3rd day of holiday

It has come to concern to me that as Singapore's society progress, are our younger generation getting alittle too pampered and content with the peace and luxurious life that most are enjoying in the republic? As most teens and children i have come across are often in the "play" mood thinking that there's always tomorrow to do the important stuffs. Some are so content with the sanitation standards that they are not willing to get themselves little dirty is this the sort of generation that the republic expects to have it as our next workforce. what happen to our governace guiding principle "Stay relevant and anticipate change"?
Alittle mud they scream like as if its some bio-chemical weapon, physical punishment like running, they can sprain ankle then complain all day, lol its not even push-ups. The 28th JSS SC was put into 30 mins of push-up position and leg-raise position alternatively. And there were less than 5 casualties. I guess is the duty of seniors to put their juniors through some tough training but not endangering their lifes or safety in the process.

3rd KT is overseas :(( Hope she is doing fine in Cambodia. Sec 1 Registration is set on the 23rd of December, i am very sure that my committee will be able to regain the confidence in Mr Lam towards Student Council. I will do my best to train the junior councillors :) With me around nothing is a problem ;)). A foolproof plan with a flexible management would result in a successful event :D

Today dam WTF the main drainge pipe of my flat was choked. then theres centipede in the closet with was eventually killed after 1/2 h of searching for it dam stupid and epic. While a weird day, hope to see wifey soon.

13/11: 2nd day of Holiday

The year end Vacation doesn't seems to be a time where i am very happy :( However, i do feel happy that i have more things to do in council now :) Starting off with Graduation Lunch then Sec 1 Registration, hm... feel alittle sad that i am unable to join my council mates during open house. Mrs Aidil and Mr Lam continues to add pressure onto my committee and I, to ensure that the registration is a success and that to train my junior councillors to the best of their potential. I guess this is normal as junior councillor especially the sec 1s haven seem the real operation methods of the organisation.

Yeah!! today i manage to reorganise my table which was once like a rubbish dump now has become a proper and official working area for me :) Days without school sometimes are very boring but with school its murderous XD

Hawkgirl has been gone the 2nd day, seriously misses her, wonder hows she is doing there, hope she alright over there. The reason i fall asleep with knowledge of her not in the republic is due to my physical being being overwhelmed by my mental spirit of lethargic. Hopes she comes back safe and sound in one piece alive :)

Yes or No to Capital Punishment??

Strangely but true the United States voted against a resolution to eliminate the death penalty from its criminal penal code's punishment call on by the UN general assembly. To me it came as a surprise as he US has always been very concern and uptight about the respect of each individual's rights. Through this incident it has certainly separated the US in terms of human rights issue from other Western Nations.

In my opinion, Capital punishment may be seem as inhumane act by the state, however, shouldn't one ask if everyone knows that it is an inhumane act why on earth do we want to commit the crime and allow their death to be suffered under such gruesome circumstances.
It also serves as a form of deterrence to civilians attempting to take law into their own hands. Now may i ask should the capital punishment be carried out upon a criminal who has committed a serious crime such as first degree murder, homicide etc. that has resulted in the loss of lives, shouldn't this offender pay with his life? what gives him/her the right to takes another's life. The limitation of freedom in prison isn't enough the denial of the right to live would be a better option.

Of course there are others with different opinions out there around the world not saying that Capital Punishment must be accepted by all nations. This will always be a question debated by the international committee.

My fault

I feel that i am increasingly insolated from my family members, sometimes i feel that my friends are closer to me and understand me more than my familly members. LOL my family members say that i never interact with them then i say they dun understand me. However, initially do they ask themselves when i interact with them and tell them what i like and my beliefs, do they take them into considerations. NOO!! they just simply dismiss my thoughts and insist on theirs. FUCK!!
They say nagging was for the interest of me. yeah always nag at the wrong time like when i am trying to study. Then ask why i do so badly for SA2 whtn i study so much. Yeah like WTF would i know why i did so badly, i did my best haiz alway slike that sucky generation gap. Parents just think that work is hard, while at least they dun need to memorise stuffs like our education system does. They they just keep scolding me, scold scold scold. When i retaliate, they say i no discipline dun respect authority. yeah then of course i from then dun wish to make my views known lah. like everytime kena rejected, say for what, like say already they will accept and understand me, in my next life bah.
Dunno lah yeah lah everything my fault, when they angry they can lor dun need say sorry to us can anyhow scold us and just leave the house one whole day dun come back. Sometimes i feel that is this family one that will really provide me with happiness and support when i really need them haiz =(

Dawn of a beginning

"Begin with the end in mind" By Jurong sec pricinpal, Mr Tham
"Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other" Former US President John F. Kennedy
"Management is the efficiency of climbing the ladder of success; leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning on the right wall" by Stephen Covey

As of today, the 28th Student Council has "informally" taken office, after receiving their office-term post. Vapour and scenes of sorrow and joy could be seen today. Some got what they wished for and others not. As for me i have gotten my desired post -> Student Affairs Co-ordinator. However there is a problem, my committee is not really that kind of efficient and united team. I would prefer df to jp, as we both have worked together for more than 5 months. The combination of the 2 of us would be very good. I am quite disappointed that i was handed into such committee. But no choice just have to make do of the best of it. haiz...

Today's SCC was a memoriable experience, the atmosphere was very tense when it came to the announcement of post. There were some post that were out of our imagination. When it was announced that i was SAC, i literally hug arivindd and mark. Thank you for your guidance over this past 7 months, it was you guys mainly who mould me a rookie into a councillor worthy of such an important post. I sincerely thank you for that =). I would fulfill your request that you have asked from me should i ever become a SAC. :D

Begaining with the end mind allows you to have a certain goal that you want to achieve thus reducing the chance of you sidetracking. It when one has a vision in his mind then shall he be able to look at long term situation and not short-term. Learning for everyone including leaders would never end, it is when leaders are willing to take critiques, do they learn and improve into a better leader than would serve his/her orgainsation better. I remember my senior once said, "leadership is to know the way, show the way and to lead the way." Thus it would be leadership that would determines if any plans can be executed no matter how good it is in paper, it would never look good in reality if it is never executed.
Thus as the 28th Student Council takes office, i hope that we would bring more improvements to the school and be able to address as many of the concerns of the students as far as possible, through any means.

Updated =D =D finally

So finally after many months, i have arrived back at my blog. Recently, Jurong Secondary school has been having students resenting TRC. as many felt that it has violated the basic human rights of the individual students and should not be even implemented. However to me, i felt that this is neccessary towards dealing with those who are trouble makers in class that really get on the teachers' nerves. 3 days of it would be too short, for this people, a minimum of 5 days should be implemented so as to allow the class to be able to learn in peace.

I believe that the reason for all this resentment is that Ms Yeong use the wrong tone and did not convey the actual usage of the TRC properly. Thus to ensure that this thing dies down, i believe that Ms Yeong should come out and clarrify the whole matter using a serious but formal tone and not those kao pei tone. If that cannot be done, then another teacher that is somewhat closer or respected by the student body should be asked to fulfil the job.

Annual General Meeting (AGM) is approaching, i just have this feeling that i am gonna get a sucky post which i hope would not happen. I hope I can get into a committee that has quite a reasonable amount of project to run. Just have to hope for the best. =D nothing can really be done after AGM :

Closer & closer

SLC is this friday, which kindda sucks. Sometimes i come into a dilemma between hardline discipline and team dynamics. Although discipline is the basic quality for a leader to posses but someimes isn't the discipline abit too much. It has crossed the line. It may work on some but it requires a long term enforcement of it like NS which is 2 years. I guess establishing a bond and mutual respect is a substitute for discipline. As this can be established over a period which causes the campers to know when is fun time and when is serious time.

The basis of Team Dynamics. But i wonder what is this bond doesn't improve the group. Is it because that we are not guiding them well or that my batch doesn't interact much with them? Should we learn from Explorers and attached each senior to a or some juniors so ask to guide them better? Thus we do not need to resort to hardline discipline? Questions to consider.

Are these camps producing leaders of the future or are we jus attending it for not much of a reason? Giving the organisers a chance to prove that they can plan a event?

Spilt in assembly

Almost towards the end of examinations :D While i guess i did badly for mother tongue, Amaths, English and SS. I hope not. SLC is round the corner in just two weeks time. A Fucking camp and all it does is to bond the batch. Fucking Seniors who do they think they are ripping authority from the camp commandants and instructors. Do they think they are greater than us just because they are older and can issuse physical punishments when they like it, f*** them.

As President Lincoln said "All man are created equal" Why are these rascals trying to do? It may be a discipline camp but its not a military camp or some special forces training so what the hell are they trying to do issuing all those physical demanding stuff that endangers ones safety!?

Recent there has been a split within the assembly of council. Some support the wearing of senior badge and others the junior badge. Personally i think that right it doesn't matter which badge you wear. Cause in theory one may think that wearing the senior badge would motivate them or junior badge would. But i can and will say that, everyone please repect the fact that it doesn't happen in real life. So would people stop being naive and motivate them by guiding them instead of having civil conflict within the assembly of this matter of which badge to wear, its, its.... totally outrageous and unacceptable.

Wondering if the flag would be half raised on monday to mourn the death of our Former deputy minister.

16/04: Drenched Twice

Today got drenched twice but i think i was for a good cause :) the first time it occur was when i arrived at school at 0655 and saw that no councillors were there to ferry the students accross the streets to the school and was fucked up by that scene. So my first person that i ferry was a teacher which stay like a few blocks away from me :D So i started the whole thing, dashed to SC room and threw my bag on the floor before asking Wei jun to deploy all councillors with umberallas to the front. So after like going for 4 rounds and asking Ric to help me go and scold any councillor who is available but did not assist, I finally received reinforcements from SC, girl guides and basketball. Thanks guys, you all were of great help ;D without you i could not have done it all. :) My Shoes were like sponges filled with water.

By 0720 the rain started to subside. So i ask everyone to go back to SC room. Then went for mother tongue after some drying. On the way up saw Mr Tham. He was like totally apprehended and told us to change to some dry T. I was like orh :)

Then the second time it occur was during CCA. Today we did CIP by collecting newspaper for charity :). Then no long after we had everything collected rain covered the once blue sky. so chiong to move all the newspaper, clothing etc to a shelther. Although getting drench sucks but it was for a good cause.

When i reached home i felt like my feet had aged. It was louse and soggy. :P Lol Peiling even posted a picture of her soggy leg on facebook, hahas :D but could have been worse.

10/04: IDC

Met up with batch at Mac at 0620 then after some briefing, started to walk back to school only to find that the gate was lock so linger outside there for a while until Mr Tan came to save us, he even overwrited Zul's decision to allow us to make use of the SC room as our base.
Thus this was followed by a breifing from Mr Tan regarding IDC. Then put our bags and got ready to start the came.

As Mr Tan was talking to the sec 2s,, I had to be there to see when he finish talking. So blew the first whistle of the day. Everyone fall in and we greeted them. DC was then commenced. Then first reporting was horrible. So many groups had to re-do and re-do. Then had to be fierce n them by asking them questions like what you gonna do about it, how long do you guys need? etc etc. Then after a few rounds of scolding, then finally finally i was able to move the campers to block to put their bags and get ready for morning PT by the secretaries.
Then had the Quick delivery game by DC, water parade by EDCC and preparation for talentime. As it was raining the whole morning, Hua chong and I were coming up with a wet-weather plan for the war game. We manage to improvised it and found that it was better so decided to use it. So during the preparation, Peiling and I went to Sheng shiong to buy syrup, ice and prizes for IDC. Then wanted to do something but didn't dare to do it.

To find a water dispenser in the school is horrible, first i went to kitchen to find as told by someone that there was one there but only found one that was use for hot water. Then remembered that there was one in PE store so decided to find a PE teacher to open the store but to no avail. which was quite sucking. Then finally was told by Weikang that there was one in NPCC room so instantly ran to draw key and took it out. It was on top of several boxes and a metal Cabot. Then the food supplier LOL Shulin keep calling the person then he dun wan pick up then er Fatt rui and I wait at the gate there for the food then i suddenly received a call and the supplier was jus behind me instead it was a female. Thus got the food and yeah :)

Reporting before lunch i had to shout at my batch in the canteen at the top of my voice which actually signifies that i am quite fed up and pissed. So did the food cheer and had lunch. Next coming up was actually Station games by the PMT. but i think the Magician game is a good experience, we should never have such similar games in future cus i pointless just that the campers have fun and no one loses.

The wargame by SAC and Batch heads was the best game in the whole camp. I can see that the campers had fun. =) Which was a job well done :) as everything was last minute but we make it seemed that it was a well-planned game than other games played earlier. Had talentime, which was quite funny during the dressing up game all three participants were very funny :D Then settled the prize but didn't managed to give all groups cus of miscommunications. Then i had to come up with some excuse which did not exist to cover up our tracks.

So during debrief, i talk until sian sian cus i want to finish fast then Mr Tan added on. The only thing that i was dam serious about was the throwing of water and water bombs like nobody's business at the campers by the instructiors constantly. Thus i shouted talk very serious for that point. Lastly i would like to thank NPCC room for all the logistic I loaned for the camp a real live-saver :D (hope the CIs dun find out) And DF ran back shouting "Mr Tan, Mr Tan!!" cus he left his phone in the school after Mr Tan lock the gate WTH!!!

21/03: A new begining is in sight =D

So tmr school will reopen and term 2 will commence with effect from 22/03. Notice that i didn't put the tittle as "end of holidays, sian" or something related. This is because i believe that everyone should try and be optimistic.

"A pessimist see the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

- Winston Churchill

When running events, problems are sure to arise, large ones or minute ones deter from one situation to another. There is often a solution to each problem that arise, is just how flexible one is towards your thinking and problem solving. Well although sometimes its hard to remain optimistic as when one is under stress, it may be too great to overcome and thus making she/he alittle hot-tempered. This is where another person who is not under stress and optimistic should lend a helping hand and overcome the problem.

Stress can be caused by intensive competition or huge workloads. Thus I believe that Harmony would victors over competition. Helping one another is better than working alone, striving to be the best but in turn causing hatred to form resulting in a society that does not have much improvements.

Shanghai world expo coming soon in 41 days :D

12/03 - 13/03: Sec 1 Orientation camp

Day 1
Changed, had briefing and got ready at the Parade Square. Did the attandance taking and bag check. Found some prohibited stuff. Then put the bags and went up to hall. Opening ceremony and gave out the bandanas. Started with Chapter 1, played with games and i think that the maze game, was not properly explained so caused soem confusion. Then had water parade which could have been changed to teaching of food/water cheer. Chaotic situation.
The mike was useless from the back it muffers when you shout at it. This batch of sec 1s is the hardest to control I have met so far. imagine the scenario 50 > councillor vs 300 students. All the seniors step in to help but to no avail. Caroline's face was v pissed. Then Vernetta, sorry to mention the name but i really have to cus i think she doesn't even know what to do during that situation which was the basic. She kept talking and had fun with the campers when ppl in front were trying hard to get them to keep quiet. So finally manage to start the dinner w the cheer and eat.

Then Gavin called for meeting, thus there was less than 10 councillors left w the sec 1s but now there were some teacher. Then I, Sean, Hua chong, Beng koon and Ding feng discuss about PA with Gavin. And we were facing the biggest problem in camp. All sec 2s had to fall out for streaming talk and some sec 3s had meet-the-parents. Almost the whole school was used and we couldn't disturb them. so guys PA was moved to 3rd floor while half had PA, the other had cheer teaching @ IT resource room. so while teaching half-way, Sean call me for back-up cus apprently DF burst a pipe so toilet was locked and guys could not have PA. Then teach half-way, Gavin go crazy and started pumping people. Then WK, S and others pull him out and kao pei him.
Then we started to send people down to canteen first and ppl started to give different instructions. so i heck care all of them. then guys PA was allowed on second floor then first floor. After the girls finish, i immidietaly send some of the guys with Sazzad to where the girls had their PA. Before that female councillors just started coming up and Kao Pei Kao Bu me ask me why guys so slow. Then at the canteen there i had about 50 guys with me so send about 10+ in and bath in a way which is not supposed to be known to ppl outside SC :D Sean was like' after this you would be closely bonded to your male friends and when you go out you can only smile and say its fun" I finished them in like 30 mins, Guys was like way faster than girls. So would ppl think before they speak.

Next was Bonding Night. its was like a disco-fashion show. But while that was happening, i was picking up things that sec 1s left behind and doing patrolling catching sec 1s who keep running off. Due to the seniors telling them that the school got ghost. Then was project runway which was fun during the presentation part. alot of funny things happen ;) Sec 1s had supper next and went to sleep. WTH before they sleep i still have to shout at people to quickly find a spot which was just in front of them, one big space to open up and sleep. Had debrief which lasted for nearly 2 hours. and Mrs idle is taking over council. went patrolling for like 1 hour then saw JT n JP using the guys showeroom, i was like wth. some guys almost did pull up. Come on ppl pls this is unacceptable! meditate and slept at 3. meditate helps you to have a better sleep. :)

Day 2
Woke up at 5, was sub-conscious when Peiling came with her sleeping bag and whack me. Then she poke me, i open my eyes and saw her face in front of me, was shocked. could have woken me up at 0515, i was already on standby with all my stuff there. Then had briefing which made me quite irritated, cus even if sec 2s didn't know that there was meeting at 0515 but 0530 there was no reason for them to come at 0550 so late. Sean n BK had to shout at them and ppl can just stroll in like nothing happened.

So had PT and Breakfast. the noodle and sugarcane tasted weird. i tot sugar cane was supposed to be sweet?!? Next had the rollarcoaster game, had trouble starting the thing then as it went on, i settle problems my self and manage to come out with something my self :D Congrats Penguin :) then some ppl slack around but i have no time to care for them. so 1A came in second, yipee :D. Then had cheering competition. followed by some fun, the campers were getting into camp mood but it was all coming to an end already. Area cleaning was next followed by prize presentation. BREAK CAMP ;) today's briefing was short and comments were good :).

But i think that most sec 2s are relying on us alot. They just stand there staring waiting for things to happen or talk among themselve. They won't even clear up the place that they eat last night, pissed. My advise/strategy went something cock up is "Don't wait for something to happen, make something happen which is the solution", oh and some people cannot keep cool or start showing pissed faces which situation cocks up which i think is something we can work on.

11/03: Marksman =D

Had Jurong secondary annual sports meet @ Clementi Stadium today. wonder why they chose this place, is it because its cheap or were other stadiums booked? well its okay cus most important its near my house :D So fall in npcc full u and started duty at 7. As ncc took up all the entrance and stairs, our job was to prevent non-participants from bridging our line and interfere with the race or the participants. If necessary by force, while that's my opinion for handling aggressive spectators or mobs. As the sports day was approaching the end, the joint effort of NPCC and NCC was request to help clear the stadium of litters. A few people from ncc were v uncooperative by throwing the litter at us and making a fool out of NPCC. So their Staff sergeant had to interfere. Scouts was the same too, ESP Eugene. He told his scouts not to lend the boxes to us. Come on lah WTH we are one school okay. there is of course a reason why we need the boxes. After clearing, went to change and rushed back to school :D

So at school rushed back in time for the bus. Then the Jin ping really looked like sec one cus she has no badges, name tag and is a private. Then we were the first school to reached HTA followed by Yuan Ching.
When i entered the shooting range, wore the muffers and picked the revolver. I was not trembling which was quite cool cus last year i was trembling and affected my accuracy. Saw Ms Lim which was quite cool cus didn't expect her to be in the range helping me. So loaded and ready. On the command "watch your front, 8 rounds fire", so applied double pressure to the trigger during the shoot. That part was scary if at any time when i applied the first, i let go or applied more pressure the firing pin could have gone of before i aim. When reloading, had problems getting the empty cartriges out. So a FI step in to help but 1 stubborn cartrige just won't get out. Thus i was passed another revolver. so loaded and fired again but this time the target moved to 15m. So tried my best to pretend the target is a head and aim in the middle of it. Then there was a shot i didn't manage to apply double pressure so couldn't get full marks because of that. Then Ms Lim kept showing hand signs to tell me that i did great after i finished. =D
Scored second highest in the squad =D 78/80, even when i have one of the worst eyesight in the squad i was still better than those who had better eyesight.

12/02: Change, Improve and Enforce

So after the CNY celebrations in school, Gavin talked to Kinhun, Caroline and me about the Sec 1 camp. As he could not find any of the in-charges. So i will just briefly state what he said. (although i cannot remember, thorough notes is with Caroline)

  1. Camp on the whole should only have 2 main objectives. 1) To bond the classes within themselves and their teachers. 2) To have fun :D

  2. We should fight for the chance instead of waiting for one then treasure it.

  3. Each committee should have an I/C, so that its easier to coordinate the effort within the commitee. E.g. Logistics, games and food.ser

  4. During camp we might want to consider putting up a mahjong paper as a form of making important announcements if there is any last minute changes. Cus from his point of view is that runners can't really get the message to everyone in time and might cause confusion.

  5. For meals, we might want to serve it in a buffet style. By having 1 class to serve for each meal and another to help clear up.

  6. Try to include some time for mini (sit down) games.

  7. Facis to memorise and come up with own cheer

  8. Facis have to be tough and independent at times. We need to provide them with some form of simulation of camp.

  9. Logistics and other essential stuff to be settle 3 days before the camp.
I guess that's about all he said. I think that point 2 and point 8 are not easy to accomplished. Especially that point 8, some of the junior councillors are not ready to lead a grp of 10+ people by them selves. My faith in the 29th is still to be gained as i still dun see any progress within the batch. Which stirkes me of the thought of the 24th SC. Hope they really buck up.

Point 2 is alittle hard to achieve cause its more on enforcing this kind os spirit into the batch and the sec 2s.

That's alll i have to say.

12/2: Good job JSS :D

As of today, the student council has handed the money raised for the Haiti victims over to the Singapore Red Cross Society. In total we as a school have raised $891, hereby i would like to thank all those who had bought something from our fundraising stall or donated some of your money. As for those who did not contribute in terms of money, maybe you prayed for them form your heart, i would also like to thank those who have done that, thank you :D.

Quoted from Buddha "Do good, Shun evil" =D

The trip to the SRCS was very hard walk around for like 1h before we found the place :D. At there, met another school's OM, which raised $7700. WOW, wonder what method they used tShw wo raised so much money. However, we did do well in our fundraising too :D.

LOL today i stupid thing happen to me :D. During the concert for CNY, Peiling and I were security personnels for the corridor. So sometimes i would go on patrol around the school. During one of the patrols, i heard people talking inside the ladies. Then i was shocked so stood there to listen what their conversation was about. Sounds to me like studetns talking. So call for back up(Ms Yeong). Together walk until the stairs beside the guides den and saw Mrs Chong and another teacher coming down. So apparently they were from the toilet which i was talking about. Then Ms Yeong was like giving me the "diao" look. She was saying the joke of the century :D.

Then VR apparently got into a conflict with an upper sec who refused to tie the hair after being told. So Ms Yeong got involved and I think her safety is at stake. But who is available to ensure her safety for at least the 10 hours that she spents in school? Hm... a very good Q.

So I guess that's all for this post =D

Happy Chinese New Year to my famillies, friends, 1B and love one =D

11/02: Inspirational :D

Today went to the Jurong Police Division HQ. Apparently they are the biggest Division HQ in Singapore. Their NPC is Woodlands NPC, that receive over 50 calls per day. Had a little introduction to the force. I still remember the ranking structure :D.

From there, we slack for a while before going to the 2nd part of the trip. We were shown the basic equipment that a frontline officer would have with him. Their pistol has a laser for target, wow =D. The T-baton was a very useful object to use in terms of defense. Flexible for all kinds of situation. When i tried the gas mask that are used in situations which involves chemical agent.

Jiatong bully me =(, those who were there should know what had happen =(.

So apparently when the officer asked who wants to join the force in the furture, I was the only one to raised my hand. Then everyone was looking at me. Come on :D what is so bad about the force. Its a tiring life but filled with different experience most of the time. :D Better than a desk-bound job.

So today was a great experience for me :D (and i found out that those people living within the Jurong Division HQ boundaries are in safe hands due to the fact that they are 1st runner-up division every year, which shows their proficiency =D)

2/02: Long week

This week was in-charge of a fundraising event. To everyone who are wondering where we got our stocks, Yes we got them from Sheng Shiong. For those who thinks that our price should be lower by 10 or 20 cents, it is normal for prices during fundraising to be higher but at least they are still reasonable. Compared to my primary school which charged me 100ml of coke for $1 which i believe was very extreme. I can guarantee everyone that the money raised every single cent will go to Red cross society.

IDC, the next upcoming event that I and others are in-charge of. For the tone of the camp, i think it should be 3/4 leisure and 1/4 Discipline. This is to ensure that the sec 2s know when to be serious as it is a basic skill they need to possess when they become seniors or in their working life. The theme of the camp to me should be "Politics" I believe that every leadership roles contains a certain extend of politics in it. Sec 2s have to know how to infer situations or foresee them and try to prevent problems for escalating or surfacing. They will also need to learn how to handle criticism by the student body. Be quick-wit too.
And for the group names why i chosen them is for them to get used to the long/hard names they would have in SLC or Induction. The politicians chosen are influence people which are stubborn, resourceful and able to preserve through numerous difficult problems. Especially President Franklin D. Roosevelt :D

Recently the thought of politics made me to wonder why aren't PRs allowed to vote in elections, i mean we are residents who live in this country for a long period. The government is important to us, if the government does not function properly we are also affected too, so why aren't we allow to vote during the elections. As government is gradually reducing the privileges, the difference between a PR and a foreigner is not so significiang anymore. Not many would want to give up their original citizenship(if their country is economically/ strong) and live in Singapore for long-term. Thus PR provides them with an alternative, as the privileges are reduced, they might move to other countries instead.

29/1: Yipee promotions :D

Promoted to the rank of Corporal today :D hehe so happy, i was certain that i would fail but i made it :D. So went to KFC and celebrated with my squadmates :D. Riduan was poor thing toppled his drink so sad. =( Then lol Sir Desmond forgot to return the key so ran back to school just to return that key. Next week having fund raising for Haiti relief. After hearing what Mr Lam had said, it makes me really go into deep thoughts, if we send cash there, there bound to be some corruption to occur. Sending food there, most might not reach the people in time cus conflicts over methods to transport the food and the sequence of places for the food to be transported to. So i have prioritise what the money i would like the Singapore red cross to spent on,

  1. Antibiotics
  2. Anesthesia
  3. Drinkable water
  4. Canned/Processed Food

Then i just think that many people do not understand the job of the SC, they have the absolute thought that we are against them. Come on lah people, you want to try doing our job for like 3 months? You think we really want to carry out the DC every morning frankly speaking i am sick of it already. We already make accomadations for you guys already, you still try and be funny play punk with the system, everyone should ought to go for NS to really experience the consequences of disobeying orders. All the typically Singaporeans, all you guys know is to complain about your situation and the solutions ask the government or In-Charges to think about it. You people just take for granted that the situation would be resolved magically by just complaining WTH. Please make some sense here, complaining is not gonna improved the situation without you guys giving your opinion.

Back to the first point have you ever tried being sandwiched in a situation, I guess most of you would say not so. And to that Basketball guy who i caught you can hate me all you want i dun really care. I am just doing my duties and to tell you the truth that day when i caught, i discussed with at least 3 other councillors whether to approved your shoes and we agreed it was not acceptable. The shoes should only be put on before CCA or before you guys board the bus for competition.

16/01: A Change

After a whole week of school, i feel that i am not suitable towards the way Mr Ching teaches instead i am more suitable to the way my tutor does. I feel that Mr Ching teaches quite fast and sometimes its quite hard to understand what he is trying to convey. So am spending my time now to slowly go thtough the textbook and learning it all over again.
Also to a certain teacher, if you have anything you dislike about me, you can tell me straight in the face after lesson, you do not neccessary have to make it known to the world. I also do not appreciate your forgiveness, your tone does not convince me its sincere so save it! And well i will not get angry over such minor matters especially when it involves you!

Hm... still trying to find solutions for the recess situation, some suggested to extend the recess. For me i would prefer if the teacher could release the sec 3s 8-10 mins before recess, so that when the sec 4s and 5s come down there would be a shorter Q. Will see how it goes on Thursday. I like the work of being a councillor, its like being a politician and a law enforcer, just the job i love :D There will be dangers involved but its part and parcel of the job just have to be prepared.

9/1: CCA day + Urshering

Morning woke up then faster chiong go school. I in drill squad for the whole CCA day. From 8-11 of course with some breaks in between. Some mistakes did occur during the time we were drilling but on the whole still alright. Then debrief, Ms Lim said that it was good, parents were impressed with our CCA. Then another part of the briefing was about something going to Macau dunno when need to reply by Monday.

So that's the end of the CCA part, next was the thing for scholarship and busary thing in the afternoon. Lunch after we meet up quickly rushed to KFC for lunch. Then before 1245 reached school and started to have briefing. Then got station and prepared for the people to arrvie. Not really a big crowd cus RC people snatch most of our job of urshering in the hall so nothing much to do there. Went to Main gate and help Weikang instead. Around 1420, Mr Tharman arrived and his councillor ushers were Syafiqah and Septimo. At 1430 went to hall and prepared for the crowd control thing, so in the end, RC people help me do the crowd control and i just have to take care of the picture frames. LOL wth. Then went down for refreshments first before all the crowd went down. Then next job was to ensure that the session 2 people went up to the hall before Mr Tharman arrival. Following that, i became a walkway ursher towards the hall. Then everyone settle and i no job. So roam around and rest, looked for suff to do. So finally finished.

Debrief dam short one and maybe alittle on the clapping part. Then Ms Ong said that we provided good service as we were not the organiser so alot of things we were not sure and had to take many instructions so that was a challenge we overcame. And then when Mr Tharman was going home, i inform everyone then they just keep shouting and attracted Mr Tharman attraction. Below is an extract of the conversation.

Mr Tharman "Is this some kind of a club or something?"
Ms Ong " Er... nope, this is the student council"
Mr Tharman "Oh... I heard that they are choosen at Sec 1s"
Ms Ong "yeah"
Mr Tharman "So what is this place?"
Ms Ong "Er... this is the Student council room"
Mr Tharman " I see, quite a nice place"

Then the cameraman stood on the table and took a photo of all of us there with Mr Tharman :D yipee. The JSS SC has received recognition from Mr Tharman today :D Then Mr Tham came in then everyone was laughing, then i was thinking what, actually it was Septimo's court shoes, so quickly put it aside. Then when Mr Tham left and said continue, Septimo kick out her shoes again. Then we look at her, she say " what he say carry on what we were doing mah :D" Then when Mrs Sophia was going home, all the councillors lined up and like usher her car out :D Hahas lol so funny :D so many things happened.

7/01: Finally the end

So this 3 days taking 1B was not an easy task, faced and tried to overcome the multiple problems. So below is a sumary of the orientation.

Day 1 was quite chaotic, cus it rained and had wet weather plan instead for assembly. The whole council reacted quite fast to the situation. Together sang dam loud the Natona Anthem and Schoo song, we were ike pratically shouting, lol :D Next the sec 1s changed to PE and went for the Sports selection. The whole plan was screwed up that day, due to our principal who talk longer than time given. So recess and the discipline talk was in chaos cus everyone was all over the place as there was a broken line of communications. Due to time constraint, Telematch was postponed and carried on with friendship. Some just wouldn't hold the others' hand for the friendship dance. Then finally end of day 1.

Debrief, initially was quite okay and joked around. However, batch debrief was like WTH. Say what our coords have to beg us, they are not begging us, they are just talking to us politely. Then fall in, say the batch have changed, like no, the whole batch is still the same as it was. So al the expected thing next asking how to solve the problems that occured adn to foresee problems.

Day 2, the sec 1s changed and went for the JSS treasure, at one station, they just smash theice cus not enough time already, so i reused the ice to cool myself :D Today things went according to time plan :D YEAH! Next game was smash the lollipop, i tied the based of the catapult while Sean spammed the twine on it :D. There were a few fail-save menchanism to prevent the catapult for collapsing. Sean and Sam were then busy thinking of a way to get more resources while i continue to secure the catapult. While then at then field no one used the catapult cus too short range and troublesome and used hand instead. wth. Had telematch next and everyone had fun, can see. :) Had alot of fun cus there were cheers and stuff like that going on. So debrief, WS and A went out to say their exprience on an incident. Then Ms Ong started with Respect before Adrien continue. Did better today and everything was alright except the need to have more situational awareness and morning duties.

Day 3, which is today, the class went for photo taking although 3 people kena need to cut hair. haiz. Next they went for the online reflections. Some people had problems with the facebook, cus some had not sign up yet which was wasting time, Corene had to bring them to another place to complete the reflections. At recess, Ahoyset had to take photos so only the sec 2 facis weyeare looking after them, heard that my class kena scolded by Adrien. During the photo taking, dam funny Wk were a skirt and then the cameraman went and took a picture :D hahas Weikang Had some ice-breaking games to let them know each other better. Then Cheering competetions had some problems getting the class together but we made it :D Next was class picnic, was seri iously dam hungry so asked Ms Lam if i could grab some leftovers. She agreed thanks :D Teaching of school song and over.

Tmr have to help the keyholder of 1B hope he can be a good one :D Jiayous! 1B can be quite a difficult class to handle. Not willing to lead even at the end was so embarrassed as a faci everyone staring at me. Then like they can suddenly be enthu and the next not. Sometimes can be extremely incooparative which is not very good as a class. But still got the fun people in the class and the all kinds of people you willl see in a class, its normal :D Hope that they can do well in academics and move to NA stream. And moreoff dun get into disciplinary trouble.

4/1: Sec 1s Orientation (1st day)

Today chiong go school for DC, i thought i was dead. Sure get fine one, die liao. Reached at 0652, it was so lucky that the fine system had not started yet. Got our new post, yipee should be quite exciting for some and some not so. I gotten SAC(I/C) i love it :D. Had Assembly, sec 1s Principal's talk which apparently affected the whole programme. The Sec 1s went back, change to PE. We taught them a cheer, miggle with them. Then went for the sports selection. That's where problems arise, as people who were selected had to stay back awhile, boys and girls were spilt. then a broken line of communications. Had problems getting them up to the hall as many of them had not finished their meals.

When we finally got everyone to the hall. The sec 1s had their discipline talk given by Ms Ong. Following that a boy/girl talk. Then had friendship dance, there was two guys i dun know why just won't hold each other's hand, they die die wun hold. Finally debrief the sec 1s and everyone went home. Then got juniors from my primary school caused me some problems, need to clarrify with them tmr(urgent)

In this event today, we were faced with several problems. Firstly people getting lost, well we have come up a system to settle that. Secondly, the discipline standards. I am happy with my class that no one tried to go against us or try to act funny :). Thirdly Need to get the classes more enthu --> by EDCC. Wonder if the Sec 1s remember their homework given by Mr Derek(okay i dun know how to spell)

1/01/2010: FIRST DAY of 2010AD =D

Woah today dam tired woke up at noon. Then at 1400h went to pick up my maid at the Airport. Apparently she went back to the Philippines for a month. So cool today at the Airport saw a whole bunch of Boeing 747 and 737. Didn't manage to see the Airbus 380, sigh.

Gonna fall sick one of thesedays, having flu, which i am afraid that it might escalate into a fever. Not good for starting a new year. Was watching a show about Einstein on History Channel today. There's one thing that puzzles me, Einstein said that it is not Gravity pulling on objects but Space pushing on the object. Wonders who can enlighten me, hmm...

So Mondays school reopens. So looking forward to working with my fellow batchmates again :D Wonders if there is anyone in the class i am assigned to from Nan Hua Primary. Hope that not too much trouble aroused from the Sec 1s. Hope that they will be cooperative and have fun in the orientation in JSS :D
